Sensei Joe AnsahInstructor – 4th Degree
It all started for me in the summer of 1985 with “Bruce Leroy” from “The Last Dragon” and my mother wanting me to be able to protect myself and my sister incase anything happened while we were out playing. She enrolled me in Judo with Professor Antonio A. Perreira at the Tremont School of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu in the Bronx, NY and I was hooked.

I went from Judo to Jaw so Pai Kung Fu and settled into USA Goju Karate in 1989. I earned my Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) in December of 1992 and have continued training since. Along the way and through Renshi Suggs, I’ve been lucky to meet and learn much from many instructors in various arts. All of them helping to shape my personal art. I like to think I’m starting to get the hang of it.
